The Queens Sapphire Jubilee and Paddington Bear in London Topic Day
Well what an absolutely wonderful day we have had here at Woodcocks’ Well, celebrating the Queen’s Sapphire Jubilee! We began our day with Celebration Assembly and kicked off with a rendition of the National Anthem. Everyone was in fine tune and we’re sure the Queen would have been very impressed with us.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side today (we think we used our entire quota up at Chester Zoo!) so our street party became an in-door celebration instead. The children sat at long tables in the hall and enjoyed a feast fit for royalty. We must say a HUGE thank you to both Mrs Gurling and Mrs Hough who worked their socks off in the kitchen this morning and also made the hall look very beautiful. Whilst eating our lunch we gave three cheers to the Queen as we all agreed that 65 years on the throne is quite an achievement.
Acorns class also celebrated their topic 'Paddington Bear in London' today and enjoyed all sorts of different activites. Keep a look out on their blog to see how much they enjoyed their day.
