Phonics

We believe that the teaching of phonics is fundamental to the development of early reading and spelling skills. At Woodcocks' Well phonics is taught in a systematic way. Our daily phonic sessions are based on the Read Write Inc scheme of work, which we have linked closely with DfE Letters and Sounds Publication (2007) and the 2014 English National Curriculum requirements. We use a range of resources and multi sensory activities to promote speaking and listening skills, phonological awareness and oral blending.

The following two websites will give you more information on both the Letters and Sounds Publication, as well as the English National Curriculum.
